Projects Planned for 2007-2008

The Davie County Arts Council works closely with the Davie County Schools to provide opportunities for learning through the arts. Studies continue to show a correlation between the arts and academic performance. Studies also suggest that the stimuli provided by the arts – pictures, songs, movement, play-acting – are essential for young children to develop to their fullest potential. Each year a panel of faculty and staff choose the programs for curriculum enrichment for students K – 12. During the 2007-2008 year, the Davie County Arts Council will spend a large portion of its budget for Arts in Education projects. The Council feels strongly that providing “Connections” for education are most important!

Funding for the arts in Davie County comes from a variety of sources. In 2007-2008, the Arts Council's Annual Fund Drive Campaign goal is $100,000! We hope that you will help us achieve these goals for our children and our community by making a generous tax-deductible donation this year!
