About Us
Welcome to your Arts Council
The Davie County Arts Council is entering a new season of renewal. Committed to its mission of enriching our community through the arts while reimagining how creativity is experienced, shared, and celebrated across Davie County.
For more than 50 years, the Arts Council has been a cultural cornerstone, supporting artists, engaging audiences, and keeping the arts accessible to all. Today, we build on that legacy with renewed energy, expanded programming, and a forward-looking vision. Through live performances, exhibitions, educational opportunities, and community partnerships, we are strengthening connections and shaping a vibrant future for the arts in Davie County.

To Make the Arts Accessible and Impactful to our Lives.
We believe there are seven different, yet related, high-level categories/purposes of the Arts:
- Investing in local artists & organizations
- Supporting economic development through the Arts
- Creating engaging public events & festivals
- Integrating Arts into education
- Expanding Arts access & equity
- Leveraging technology & digital Arts
- Advocating for Arts-Friendly policies
We are focused on the first four categories/purposes which we believe offer the greatest immediate opportunities for growth in programming and educational interactive Arts offerings.

mission
History of DCAA
Founded in 1975, the Davie County Arts Council is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting people to the arts. From its earliest days, the council has promoted arts education, visual and performing arts, and community engagement throughout Davie County. Its mission, “Connecting PEOPLE to the ARTS,” has guided decades of programming and outreach.
A major focus of the council is the Brock Performing Arts Center in Mocksville, which serves as a hub for concerts, theater productions, dance, and other live performances. Known for its intimate setting and excellent acoustics, the Brock has hosted nationally and regionally recognized performers, providing the community with access to high-quality arts experiences.
Over the years, DCAC has expanded its programs to include juried art exhibitions, youth arts initiatives, and community workshops. The council supports local artists through exhibitions and performance opportunities while fostering creativity and cultural appreciation across all ages. Its efforts continue to enrich Davie County’s cultural life and strengthen its role as a vibrant community where the arts are valued and celebrated.
In recent years, new leadership has brought fresh energy and vision to the council. With a focus on reshaping programs, expanding community partnerships, and increasing accessibility to the arts, the leadership team is guiding DCAC into a new era of creativity and community impact.
