THE TORTOISE AND THE HARE
We are excited to welcome the nationally acclaimed Missoula Children’s Theatre back to the Brock Performing Arts Center for a one-week residency, June 22–27, 2026 — and this year we are offering a FULL-DAY CAMP OPTION in partnership with Cognition to support working families.
🌟 HOW THE DAY WORKS (FULL-DAY CAMP OPTION)
This program combines Missoula theatre rehearsals with supervised full-day care through Cognition and coordinated transportation with Davie County Schools.
📍 MORNING DROP-OFF (COGNITION)
🕣 8:30–9:00 AM
Parents drop students off at Cognition
Cognition staff supervise morning check-in and activities
Students are safely supervised before departure
🚌 MORNING TRANSPORT (DAVIE COUNTY SCHOOLS)
🕘 9:00–9:30 AM
Students board school buses at Cognition
Transported to the Brock Performing Arts Center
Supervised by school transportation staff during transit
🎭 MISSOULA CHILDREN’S THEATRE (AT BROCK)
🕙 10:00 AM–2:30 PM
Students participate in professional theatre rehearsals
Led by Missoula touring directors
Supported by Davie County Arts Council staff onsite
No experience required — all roles are cast during audition week!
🚌 AFTERNOON TRANSPORT BACK TO COGNITION
🕝 2:30–3:30 PM
Students are dismissed from rehearsal and loaded onto buses
Transported back to Cognition via Davie County Schools buses
Attendance is checked at every transition point for safety
🧠 AFTERNOON CAMP (COGNITION)
🕞 3:30–5:00 PM
Snack provided
STEAM activities, games, enrichment programming
Museum play and structured supervised activities
Parent pickup at Cognition
🎭 ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency gives students the opportunity to audition, rehearse, and perform a full production in just one week. No experience is needed — just enthusiasm and willingness to participate!

This partnership with Cognition ensures that working families have a safe, structured, and enriching full-day option that blends arts education with STEAM learning and supervised care.

Participation Details
• Open auditions
• Camp is limited to 50-60 Students
• Open to students entering 1st grade and up
• No prior theatre experience required
• Not all who audition are guaranteed a role

Two public performances will take place at the end of the residency. Performance dates and times will be announced soon.
